The Rain

The black and white picture of a stranger!

After years of commuting from home without insane amount of water splashes, it was time for me to dive deep in water, or at least for my footwear.

With the onset of summer which never really arrived fully well in Delhi/Gurgaon, it’s early monsoon here. Somewhere in the corner of our hearts, our wishes of bearable summer got fulfilled and here we are with the extreme of the monsoon.

Anyways, in India, people usually come to the topic of weather when they have nothing to discuss or they want to keep the conversation going. But, I have more than weather to write about.

So, today. I travelled from all the way from North Delhi to South Gurgaon (nothing new, I do so 5 days a week) for a purpose well laid out, some 15 days back. The weather in Delhi was all fine until it was time for me to leave home.

Black clouds gathered, turning the sky grey, in full force to turn my day the same color, but as people say nobody against the will of almighty. I knew no matter what, I had to leave my home at the pre-defined time to reach on time.

With the last stroke of nail paint, I extended my hand towards my phone to book a cab to the nearest metro station which takes about Rs. 10 and 10 minutes of time. All thanks to surge pricing due to rain, the time remained same but amount *6.

Anywhoo, with umbrella dripping rain water, shoulders carrying the weight of bags, I boarded the metro with what I count 200+ other passengers.

Come what may, crowd in Delhi, always heaving.

And I observed something seemingly noticeable, the drops of water in Delhi metro were in the shape of circles, the window panes had a dripping motion of water on them, but as soon as I entered Gurgaon, the same window panes had hexagon figures. No clue, what magic!

After successfully changing 2 metro lines, spending about 2 hours in metro, and clicking a beautiful black and white picture of a stranger, I met my friends at the last metro station and we headed towards our destination.

Well, the well laid out plan was to watch a play, And then there were none. God, what direction! what acting! After one failed attempt, I even whistled at the end.

In the end, we had food and we changed ways for home. I, decided to stay at a friends.

And now the highlight of the day. I am alive, my phone’s dead (like literally, no charge can wake it up, no buttons turning it on).
